As Dr. John continues with Ps.90, we learn that counting our days can lead to wisdom. What is that wisdom to be? The wisdom gleaned from knowing the brevity of life is found in five prayers. Moses prays for perspective, mercy, joy, meaning and a sense of God’s majesty. These grant us wisdom in the fleeting of our days.

    Facing Eternity

    In this message Dr. John returns to Psalm 73. As the author Asaph looks at the abundance and health of those who do not know God, he begins to question his own faith - until he sees their end. All the gain the wicked enjoy is transitory. Biblical faith looks clearly at things on earth but more so - to the things that are eternal.

    Facing the Brevity of Life

    As Dr. John preaches on 5 troubling events in which we may find God, he comes to Psalm 90 - a psalm about death. In our society, we are open about almost every topic except death. The subject is thought to be too morbid or frightening to consider. Dr. John reminds us that the consequence of considering our death is not fear, but wisdom.
