    The Journey of Faith

    Abraham faced a decision. God has offered him blessed promises, but he must leave Haran and walk into the unknown. Like a fledging bird, Abraham leaves security and prosperity to follow God’s call by faith. His faith would be tested by danger and delay, famine and foes. His faith was not always rock-solid, but God’s promises never wavered.     Can God Be Trusted?

    We are accustomed to broken promises. Warranties with fine print, politicians who please ears to get elected, and guarantees that are ignored. People have broken their promises to you. In fact, we have broken promises ourselves. So we become suspect and cynical. In Genesis 15, Abraham believed God’s promise; he trusted the Word and integrity of God. That trust was accredited to him as righteousness. Listen to Dr. John’s encouragement for us; even today, faith is enough to receive righteousness in Jesus Christ.
